Hi everyone! Sorry I have been a bit slow to blog lately. I went out of town to visit my sister for a week, and then had a week long family reunion this week(still in progress!) 🙂 We are having so much fun hanging out together.  I have been sewing a bit. I finished and mailed my bug doll for the blinking flights bug doll swap. They are so cute. I finished two of my T-Shirt quilt orders (only one more to go!) I started a circles quilt out of the Riley Blake fabric…it is going to be so dang cute! I caught up my Kansas City Star blocks, Hillary cut and pinned all my applique blocks so I HAD to finish them! She is so sweet! 🙂  I decided to try out free motion raw edge applique on my Bunny Hill bom blocks. I love them so much!

I won a gorgeous quilt from Penny at sewtakeahike. It is beautiful and I love it! Thank you Penny!

I would show pictures of all of these things but I dropped my camera in the river while visiting Hillary and my pics are bright white flashes…so I am  trying to figure out the camera problem and then I am sure you will be swamped with photos!

And finally the real reason I wanted to post today! MOMODDThe Quilters Daily Deal today is a Wonderland by Momo layer cake for 15.95! It is such a great deal! 55% off! Go check it out and grab one for yourself!

Have a fantastic day!

This summer has really gotten away from me! I can’t believe how busy we’ve been! The kids have been involved in all kinds of things…we have had summer school, the swim team, several birthdays, two quilt shows, doctors appointments, and the list goes on..! It has been crazy! So, when I finally get the chance to sit down and sew a few seams I hardly know where to start!

I should be sashing this quilt:P7010076Or finishing up the last twenty or so blocks for this quilt:P7010071

Instead, I started this quilt! I know, I’ll never learn…P7010069

But its just so dang cute! I love this particular grouping of the Hello Betty fabrics!

I have plans for several more “new” quilts that I want to start, and three T-shirt quilts that I need to finish up for customers. But, I am so tired today…I think an afternoon nap is in order! (after grocery shopping and paying bills, and before dinner and the pool party! …oh, and I have to tidy up the house sometime today too!) oh well! 🙂 That’s summertime right! Hope your all enjoying your summer!

I can’t believe my good fortune! P6180014I AM a lucky girl! I won these gorgeous earrings from Liz at Eliza does very little. She is a wonderful and talented artist living in London. And she makes beautiful jewlery.  I got them in the mail about  a week ago and have been wearing them regularly. I LOVE them!!!  Liz, thank you so much!

P6050106I decided that I wanted to try paper piecing. But, it couldn’t be too hard so when I came upon this tutorial, I was sold. Sign me up right away!!! I have finally started my green quilt, and I am already in love! I really love this pattern too. and it is SO easy! If any of you would like to give it a try, head on over to Film in the Fridge and check out her tutorial. Its a good one. Ashley is a quilting rockstar! Enjoy!P6050104I need to get to work…I can’t wait to finish this baby!

P6110146I joined the Spring Blooms Mini Quilt Swap, how could I resist that kind of fun!? 🙂 So, of course I had to make a practice quilt! The little cutie above is my first attempt at a mini quilt. I had some fun with it. I tried a bit of embroidery mixed with patchwork. I also did some geometric free motion quilting on the squares and a bigger floral pattern on the rest of the quilt. I like it very much, so do my girls…they have decided that it is a quilt for their barbies!  The jury is still out on that one!:)

P6110144This is the quilt I made for my swap partner. She is a darling girl who asked for bright bold colors…no pastels, she said! I am hoping that she will like this one! It sure was fun to make! I think the flower pattern in the quilting is so pretty. I used Tranquility by Sandy Gervais fabric and Hobbs Heirloom low loft batting so its not as puffy as it looks! I can’t wait to hear if she likes it! This swap has been fun and inspiring. I have enjoyed seeing all the other designs, everyone is so creative, and so different! Love it!

P6110147And last but not least, my spring blooms mini quilt received! I got this darling little art quilt in the mail this week. It is appropriately named Sunny and was made just for me by Royce. She is a wonderful fiber artist from Tennessee.  Thanks so much Royce!

P6050102My momma had a birthday last week! Happy Birthday Mom! I decided to make her this cool weighted pin cushion that I found on Oh Frannson‘s blog. As usual, her directions were fabulous. Well written and easy to understand. I love her patterns! I used my precious Anna Maria Horner Fabric. My mom, I am happy to say, LOVES her pincushion too! She now has a place for her glasses and seam ripper as well.

And I am just the luckiest girl around! 🙂 My sister Hillary of Hillary Ann…Designing Happy makes these gorgeous cupcake pincushions! She sent me one in the mail for my birthday! I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!! 🙂 Its just so adorable! Thanks again Hill, and yes my pins are very happy living in a chocolate cupcake! P5300047cupcakesI grabbed this photo from Hillary because it shows just how cute they are! and I could not take a decent pic of mine! They really are that cute!

P5220003So, my lovely little sister gave me this adorable little elephant for my birthday!
P5220002Isn’t she so cute?? Irresistible, if you ask me! So, the funny thing was when my girls brought me all the other elephants in our house to introduce our new little friend to her family! I had no idea I had so many elephants! It was clear I have a “thing” for them.

So, I thought I would share a few of my favorite elephant fabrics that have been hanging out in my pictures folder and my etsy favorites! Enjoy!

P2260083P5060075-1I have heard some people say that applique is the “A” word! Sometimes I have to agree! I have been doing the bunny hill blocks of the month. As you can see, I am a few blocks behind! Its much more difficult than I thought it would be…but, also relaxing and rewarding! Hopefully my skills will improve.

There is a great giveaway going on over at the Crafty Girls Workshop. Go check it out and win some lovely Christmas fabric!

Have a lovely day!
